Former Ag Candidate Denise O’Brien Endorses Francis Thicke
by FrancisThickeYou probably know Denise O’Brien, a long-time leader in Iowa’s agriculture and food system. Denise was a 2006 Democratic candidate for Iowa Secretary of Agriculture. Denise won that year’s Democratic Primary, but narrowly lost in the general election.
Denise has endorsed my candidacy for Iowa Secretary of Agriculture. On another blog, Bleeding Heartland, Denise was quoted saying “I have pledged my support to Francis. He has an excellent background to be a strong leader of our state agriculture department. His depth of knowledge of agriculture and state agriculture department gives him credibility when it comes to truly understanding the relationship of agriculture to the rest of the world. It is my intention to work hard to get Francis elected.”
